    Cleveland poet Russell Vidrick hosts this second Saturday event 3 p.m. at Brandt Gallery in the Tremont neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio.

    An informal structure, poets sit in a round and share poems (their own and other’s work). There is no sign up list, you can listen, read, recite or comment, or not.

    A good group for a low key friendly afternoon of poetry.

  • Maj Ragain and Nicole Robinson Poetry, Birthday Celebration and BBQ Saturday Sept. 15th at 3 p.m.

    Russell Vidrick and Brandt Gallery presents poetry by Maj Ragain and Nicole Robinson.

    Longtime friends of Russell’s and Brandt Gallery, Maj and Nikki will be featured readers with an open mic to follow. The grill will be lit, some burgers (beef and veggie) will be provided. Potluck encouraged!!

    Maj Ragain was born on a Saturday morning, September 15, 1940 in Olney, a small farming community in southeastern Illinois. He holds a Phd from Kent State University where he has taught poetry, off and on, since 1969. He is the author of numerous books of poetry including The Oleny Dreadnot Book, Twist the Axe, Fresh Oil Loose Gravel, and A Hungry Ghost Surrenders His Tacklebox. Ragain lives in Kent, Ohio with his wife LuAnn Csernotta and serves as host to the open poetry readings at Last Exit Bookstore and the annual Jawbone Poetry Festival.

    Nicole Robinson is the outreach coordinator for Wick Poetry Center at Kent State University. She is the author of the chapbook, The Slop of Giving In, The Melt of Letting Go and her poems have appeared, or are forthcoming, in Literary Imagination, The Louisville Review, Spillway, and elsewhere. She lives in Kent, Ohio with her partner Deb, and their two greyhounds, Bill & Betty.

  • Blayne Hoerner hosts Russell's open mic poetry April 14th @ 3p.m.

    This friendly informal group, organized by Russell Vidrick, meets the second Saturday of every month at Brandt Gallery. An open mic event without a microphone, the group sits in a circle and take turns reading their own work or the work of others.

    There is no signup list and reading is optional. Sometimes a bit of food and beverage is brought to share; a poetry reading in a genuinely communal spirit.

    Russell is on tour this month so the very able Blayne Hoerner will be our hostess this week.

  • BRANDT21 poetry reading, barbecue/potluck Saturday October 8th

    Saturday October 8 the monthly Russell Vidrick open mic poetry will feature the contributors to his BRANDT21 poetry anthology published in conjunction with the BRANDT21 anniversary show.

    Poetry begins at 3 p.m.

    Barbecue begins at 5 p.m. we supply fire and some light beverages, you bring food for the grill and to share!
